I bet you are wondering where we’ve been! It’s been some time since I’ve posted here on the blog, I’ve been hard at work behind the scenes working on planning Love Affair Workshop, securing sponsors and giveaways (we’ll be announcing the awesome people we’ve got on board soon, very soon!). With September drawing closer and our Dallas workshop just around the corner you’ll find us here on the blog a bit more here.
The number one question I’m getting right now (daily to my inbox) is: DO YOU HAVE ANY SEAT LEFT AT THE WORKSHOP? The answer: YES! However, I don’t anticipate this will be the case much longer with people registering every day. With that said I thought you might enjoy a little update on what we’ve each been up to so you’ll know a little more about us when you arrive! We all talk over the phone with one another quite often and online so here is a little of what I’ve gathered from each of the girls and I, of course, can fill you in on my own news too.
Lauren has been busy preparing to move her business and home to Stillwater, Oklahoma with her husband, Josh. They purchased a home and they’ve been renovating it themselves which has been hard work but it will be worth it in the end. I believe they just moved last week! With the move Lauren has been doing a lot of updating to her business with a new brand and website coming soon (you can already sneak a peek at some of it on her blog) and a big move into portrait photography. This means Lauren has had a HUGE learning curve learning how to start a business in a brand new town and enter into the world of portrait photography. I’m sure she’ll be filling us in on some of these details in Dallas. Below is a shot of Lauren working on the new place!
My turn (Millie): I’ve been working hard this year to keep up with all of the weddings we’ve shot. It’s been the busiest Spring ever and we’ve been hopping! I’ve also taken a lot more time this year to hang out with my little nephew (he’s growing so fast) and fix up my new home and studio to be just what I’m wanting, it’s coming along nicely. Additionally, I’ll be taking some time to travel (both for work and leisure) within the next month and a half. A fun trip to NY, a family vacation to Bald Head Island, a trip to speak to the CT PUG, and then off to Moab, Utah for some fun with some of my favorite photographers (The Marfa Girls). I’m looking forward to some down time so I’ll be refreshed for Love Affair! Below is a photo of my home after it’s been all spruced up and me playing with my nephew!
What about Kelly? She’s been on vacation for the last little bit while simultaneously taking care of the shipment of the new Kelly Moore Bags. The bag business has really taken off so she’s been spending lots of time working on that and taking the summer to be a Mom to sweet little Posey.
Davina is a mother to four and it’s summer… enough said, right?! She’s been venturing into fun new summertime projects and spending time with her kiddos. All while growing her portrait business by leaps and bounds this year. She’s been doing some really great and fun work! She also recently spent some time doing sessions in Utah. My favorite things to hear her chat about lately is the sales meetings she’s been having with her clients and all she’s been learning about the portrait world. She’s really pumped about this new direction for her business and I’m sure you’ll be hearing lots about it at Love Affair. Just listening to her talk about it is inspiring!
